Swisscom Switzerland, Sunrise and Salt Mobile

For Swisscom, Sunrise and Salt, we carried out several preliminary studies, project support assignments and service projects as part of Intraincom.

Intraincom is the consortium that brings together the three Swiss mobile providers that operate their own physical networks. The consortium’s activities are limited to the network-related areas directly connected to SBB railway cars. Currently, these providers are Swisscom, Sunrise and Salt. As part of this work, we developed several specialized solutions for distributing mobile phone signals inside SBB railway cars.

SBB AG

Together with SBB, we developed a low-profile 5G railway antenna for use on modern double-decker railcars in the SBB network. The outstanding achievement was meeting the strict clearance profile requirements while ensuring performance at the lowest frequency bands currently used for mobile applications in Switzerland.

Novotronik

We carried out simulation and optimization work on multi-channel, broadband signal distribution systems in the frequency range up to 2 GHz.

For broadband systems to operate reliably, they need good impedance matching across the entire frequency range — both at connector transitions and throughout the complete circuit system. We successfully implemented this for Novotronik.

Prointec

We developed and produced a light call system for medical practices. With this light call system, a doctor can request support from the team directly at the push of a single button in order to receive the necessary assistance during subsequent treatment steps. This allows practice staff to continue with their daily tasks while remaining immediately reachable when needed.

Physics Institute of the University of Bern

We contributed to the development of electronics for various space projects. Part of the electronics we developed were later used in space. Other equipment was used for project support on the ground. We carried out several assignments, most of them from the ESA (European Space Agency) portfolio, including support with the verification and optimization of detailed technical issues.

Control 4

We designed several antenna systems for a home automation remote control system. In the modern device designs, it was a challenge to implement the different antenna systems required for the various wireless connections. We achieved this through custom-developed antennas, complemented by compact standard antennas.

European Space Agency, ESA

We designed several compact satellite ground stations for locations in the Netherlands and Belgium. All stages from the parabolic antennas through to the intermediate-frequency signal at 70 MHz were developed and produced. Assembly and equipment integration took place at our facilities in Lätti, where the factory acceptance test with ESA was then carried out. Following the successful test, the satellite ground stations were delivered to their operating locations, installed and commissioned by us before final handover to the customer.

Stadler Rail

We supplied broadband low-profile 5G railway antennas for integration on Swiss trains. In addition, we provided project support in the field of mobile communications for the validation and definition of effective installation solutions.

Tissot Medical

We contributed to development projects in the field of ophthalmology. In these projects, we implemented reliable measurement and wireless transmission of measured values, such as intraocular pressure and verified the designed methods using prototype structures to assess their suitability for practical use.

Various Swiss cantonal Police forces

We developed a fire-control system for transmitting readiness feedback from marksmen to the firing command officer. Signal transmission takes place within a narrow frequency band and is designed for high interference immunity.

We also developed and built vehicle-specific antennas that, compared to standard antennas, have a modified geometry and are particularly space-saving.

GfK Telecontrol

We developed several antenna structures that can be used more efficiently and with higher performance in existing electronic systems.

The measurement systems record the media consumption of reference participants. The feedback on media consumption is transmitted via conventional mobile communication channels.

RUAG

We developed and produced a video surveillance system operating in the frequency range above 2 GHz. The transmission units send their data streams to a central unit, where six video data streams are demodulated and processed in parallel. To secure the transmitted data over the air interface, we contributed to the development of the specifications used to define and develop the encoder and decoder systems.

In addition, EMC analyses were carried out on printed circuit boards, where critical circuit sections were analyzed and optimized using electromagnetic simulations.
